Oladoc, a Lahore-based healthcare marketplace, raised $1.8 million in pre-Series A funding from Sarmayacar and Doha Tech Angels.

Elevator Pitch: Find and book doctor appointments instantly.

Tell me more: Finding a doctor has become such a hassle. Yes, you can ask your friends and family for recommendations.

But then, you might also have to tell them why you need a Doctor, especially when you are seeking a specialist.

Let’s face it, asking for a friend is a white lie you’d rather not tell.

That’s the value prop for Oladoc. You get all the information and help you need. And then some.

Oladoc puts 8,000+ doctors at your fingertips.

You can search for and book appointments online or schedule a video consultation – instantly.

You can see patient reviews, consultation fees, satisfaction scores, and wait times as you search for doctors.

If that’s not all, it also lets you order lab tests and share medical information.

You should know: Oladoc was founded in 2016 by brothers Abid and Atif Zuberi. It claims to have served 15+ million patients across 10+ cities in Pakistan.

To date, Oladoc has raised $3 million in disclosed funding.

Before you go: Oladoc plans to use the fresh funding to keep executing better than its many competitors and expand into other verticals simultaneously.

It faces competition from Healthwire, Ailaaj, and Marham.
