Rozee, a jobs platform in Pakistan, announced that Monis Rahman would be stepping down, and Shahid Hosain Kazi will be taking over as the company’s new CEO.

Tell me more: Monis Rahman founded the company in 2008 and is stepping down after over ten years as CEO.

Rozee became Pakistan’s first venture capital-backed startup in 2008. It was also the first company to move the print job classifieds online.

In the wake of the pandemic, it had to reinvent itself by launching executive search and headhunting divisions. In addition, Rozgar, a social network designed specifically for blue-collar workers, was launched.

As Monis is also leading Dukaan, a mobile-first e-commerce platform for small businesses that he launched 8 months ago, he believes Rozee now needs a committed and focused leadership team to take it further.

You should know: The newly appointed CEO, Shahid Kazi has 27 years of experience building and growing financial products.

Rozee will be transitioning to a career and financial wellness platform under his leadership. He previously served as CEO at Finca Microfinance Bank and as Acting CEO.

Monis Rahman will continue to serve as chairman of the board and will work with Shahid Kazi on product development.

Before you go: Rozee claims that it is profitable, has grown 40% YoY, and has raised a total of $9.5 million in venture capital funding.
