Bykea to offer insurance coverage to customers

Bykea has signed an agreement with State Life Insurance Corporation (SLIC) for the ‘State Life Ride Protection Plan.’ The insurance covers accidental death, disability, and hospitalization for Bykea passengers.

Why it matters: The traffic in the country, especially in big cities, is very ill-managed, often leading to accidents. People on bikes usually do not wear helmets, making them more vulnerable.

Moreover, very few people have insurance when it comes to accidents or any other mishaps on the road.

With the insurance offered by Bykea and SLIC, the riders and the passengers will have coverage for hospital charges, and the grieving families will also get support in the unfortunate case of casualties.

Tell me more: The users can pay a small amount for every bike ride from the app.

They will get an insurance cover of Rs 25,000 for hospitalization and injuries.

In the event of a tragic death or lifelong disability due to an accident, the deceased’s family may be eligible for a life insurance payout of Rs 400,000.

Before you go: While motorbike riders must wear a helmet, this new feature will make them feel safer while riding with Bykea.

This feature is optional and is available for all users on both Android and iOS.
